Flagzy makes flags, countries and capital cities easier—and more satisfying—to learn through short games you can start immediately.

Why we built it

Geography games are often either too classroom-like or too cluttered. Flagzy aims for a calmer middle ground: quick rounds, clear feedback, thoughtful difficulty and enough personality to make you want to play another round.

What you can play

Flagzy includes the Daily Flag Game, Guess the Flag, the Flag Color Game, Flagle, the Capital City Quiz and Country from Capital. You can also browse all 195 flags, study them as flashcards, print a study deck or narrow any activity to one continent.

Our approach

We keep the main games free to play, mobile-friendly and available without an account. New modes are added only when they offer a genuinely useful way to learn, while the rest of Flagzy stays fast, understandable and fun for players of different ages.

Country and region coverage

Flagzy’s working collection contains 195 countries: the 193 United Nations member states plus Palestine and Vatican City. Continent and subregion labels are organised as a practical learning system, using the United Nations M49 geographic scheme as the main reference point.

Geographic names, capitals and political status can be disputed or change over time. A quiz needs one answer to score consistently, so Flagzy records one current learning answer while inviting corrections and reviewing credible source updates.

Data and flag methodology

Country names, two-letter codes, regions, subregions and capital fields are compiled into a local, versioned dataset. We check the collection against the United Nations member-state list, the UN M49 geographic standard and ISO 3166 country codes. Flag artwork is served locally from the open-source flag-icons project.

For the Flag Color Game, Flagzy samples each local SVG at a consistent size, groups pixels into broad colour families and calculates approximate shares. A palette is excluded when another country produces the same rounded colour signature, because a colour-only question should have one defensible answer.

Editorial responsibility

Flagzy is responsible for the game rules, regional learning notes, palette calculations and published corrections. We do not treat a community-edited list or an AI-generated answer as sufficient evidence by itself; corrections are checked against primary or recognised geographic sources before the local dataset is updated.
