How to play Guess the Flag

Learn how the world flag quiz works, which flags are included and how to choose a practice mode.

What you’ll practise in Guess the Flag

The world quiz draws from all 195 country flags. One question may show a familiar tricolour; the next may depend on a small emblem or an unusual stripe pattern. Multiple choice helps you recognise designs, while typed answers make you recall the country without prompts.

A simple way to identify an unfamiliar flag

Start with the overall layout, then narrow the flag to a likely region and check its most distinctive symbol. This is more reliable than trying to remember the country from colour alone.

  • Check the overall layout
  • Narrow the flag to a likely region
  • Confirm the stripe order, emblem or other small symbol
How does Guess the Flag work?

Each question shows a country flag. Choose the country or type its name, read the feedback and continue until the round is complete. Your score shows how many flags you identified correctly.

Which game modes are available?
